Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One. Only time will tell what is up NetherRealm's sleeves. At the worst, it appears that Sindel may be undergoing some type of redemption arc, but fans are likely to be happy if it brings Sindel back in line with her original backstory. At the best, it's possible there's a retcon or an explanation for two different queens in Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath (which is not impossible with the time traveling shenanigans). This could easily be a red herring, though, and there could even be an explanation in the story mode, depending on what timeline and specifically what Sindel this is.
Of course, this is despite her daughter, Kitana, asking Sheeva what she has done. Furthermore, upon her awakening, Sindel's countenance appears changed, confused, and not evil whatsoever. After Sindel, DC Comics' Joker and Todd McFarlane's vastly popular anti. The Dark Empress, as her new identity, wouldn't likely stand for this given Nightwolf killed her. As it stands right now, Mortal Kombat 11 has seen the addition of Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and Terminator as DLC fighters. The trailer shows the characters finding Sindel's coffin, reviving her, and then confirms that she continues to work with Nightwolf. This is hinted at in several moments, but perhaps the most noteworthy is Sindel working alongside Nightwolf. It appears Aftermath be her new retcon, or at the very least, a new redemption. This didn't go over well with the MK fanbase who preferred the story of a loving mother forced into evil. What makes this such a great tool is that because it consists of two hits, it can be hit confirmed despite requiring a single input.
RELATED: Mortal Kombat 11 Reveals Dynamic Theme for PS4Īs many know, Sindel's introduction into Mortal Kombat 11 came with a rather significant retcon in it, it was revealed that Sindel had always been evil, had betrayed Edenia and her husband, and gleefully took her seat as Shao Kahn's empress. Sindel’s best move is her Wheeling Crash attack (+).This is an advancing multi-hitting attack that leaves Sindel safe at -7 on block. That said, it would be a bit of a strange cop out for Mortal Kombat 11, but the trailer also hints at another area being addressed (or retconned) again: Sindel.
This doesn't really come as a surprise given Tower's endings have always been non-canonical, and perhaps the "best ending" could still occur after Aftermath. However, it also seems to be throwing a lot out the window, as Aftermath seemingly canonizes an ending that is not the "best ending." In MK11, the best ending results in Liu Kang and Kitana reworking the future, while Aftermath seems to pick up from the good ending with Raiden aiding Liu Kang. Under Queen Sindel’s governance, the people of Edenia and Outworld will forever be allies. Queen Sindel used her magic to dispel the sorcery that bounded her home of Edenia to Outworld. Mortal Kombat 11seems to be bringing a lot into the game, including three new DLC characters, a continuation of the story, a few freebies, and more. Sindel prepares to fight Nightwolf again.
